Oris is one of the few remaining independent Swiss watchmakers, and the Aquis is its flagship diver. It has a muscular 300 m case, a ceramic bezel, sharp applied indices and an integrated strap or bracelet that flows from the case. Versions with Oris’ in-house Calibre 400 add a five-day power reserve and a 10-year warranty, so check which movement you’re looking at.
Who it’s for
Dive-watch buyers who want something more distinctive than the obvious choices at this price.
Buying tips
- Calibre 400 models cost more but are more desirable. The reference number tells you which movement is inside.
- Many sizes exist (36.5 to 43.5 mm). Lug-to-lug length matters because of the integrated design.
- Oris watches lose value faster than Rolex or Tudor, which makes pre-owned prices very attractive.
