When the original Datograph appeared in 1999, it reset expectations for what a chronograph movement could look like. Turn over the Up/Down and you see the L951.6: German silver plates, gold chatons, hand-engraved balance cock and a column-wheel flyback mechanism laid out like a city map. The dial adds Lange’s outsize date and an “Auf/Ab” power-reserve indicator.
Who it’s for
Collectors who prize movement finishing above everything else. Many consider it a grail-level chronograph.

- Platinum and pink gold editions, plus limited “Lumen” and “Hampton Court” variants, trade very differently.
