Collectors nicknamed it the “CasiOak” because the eight-sided bezel echoes a certain Swiss icon that costs several hundred times as much. Underneath is a serious G-Shock: a carbon-reinforced resin case, 200 m water resistance, world time and a 1/100-second stopwatch. At under 12 mm thick, it is one of the slimmest analog-digital G-Shocks Casio makes.
Who it’s for
Someone who wants a tough, good-looking everyday watch that works with jeans or a T-shirt, and who likes the integrated-bracelet look without the price.
Buying tips
- The GA-B2100 adds solar charging and Bluetooth. Decide whether those are worth the extra cost.
- Small hour markers can be hard to read at night. Pick a dial color with good contrast.
- Many colorways exist and limited ones sell at a premium on eBay. If you just want the watch, buy the standard black.
